Priserna anges i euro exklusive moms.

Licence and Update Policy

Machinery Regulation Cybersecurity Kit · Version 1.0 · Effective 3 November 2026

In short: the licence is for one company. Its employees may use the Kit for the company's own machinery and related products. You may share the documents you complete for your products with the people who need them for your compliance work, such as authorities, notified bodies and your customers. You may send the supplier questionnaire and the importer and distributor forms to your own suppliers, importers and distributors to fill in, and you may let an outside consultant work on your documents. Otherwise the blank templates, the guides and the worked example stay inside your company. Group companies need their own licence, and so do consultancies that want to use the Kit for their own clients. Updates are free until at least the end of 2027. Your files are prepared for your company and carry its name. If you buy as a consumer, your right of withdrawal ends when you start the download, because you ask for immediate supply at checkout. A refund or a reversed payment ends the licence.

1. Definitions

  • We: Özer Koray Akdemir, Sweden, the author of the Kit and owner of all rights in it. We sell the Kit through Polar Software, Inc., which acts as reseller and merchant of record. Polar is the seller in the purchase; this licence is between you and us.
  • You: the company entered in the "Licensee company" field at checkout. That name is printed in your files as the licensee. A sole trader counts as one company. If you buy as an individual without naming a company, the licence is personal to you: you may use the Kit for the products of one organisation you work for at a time, as its employee or contractor. Using it for several organisations at the same time requires a Consultant licence.
  • Kit: all files delivered under this licence, including blank templates, workbooks, guides, the worked example and later updates.
  • Order: the purchase recorded by Polar under the order number shown in your files.
  • Licence key: the key Polar sends you after payment.
  • Authorised users: your employees, and contractors and external consultants (individuals or firms) whom you engage to work on your products, for as long as they do so.
  • Completed document: a document you create from a template and fill in with information about your own organisation and products, so that it describes them rather than products in general.

2. The licence you receive

You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable Company licence. It covers one legal entity and lasts without time limit for the versions you have received, unless it ends under section 10.

3. Delivery

  1. After payment you download the Kit at getmachineryready.com/download with your licence key. Each download is prepared for your order. The files carry your company name and order number, and marks that are not visible on the page but identify the order.
  2. A download link is valid for 24 hours. You may download again with the same key for as long as the licence is in force.
  3. We record each download (order number, company name, e-mail address and time) to deliver the Kit and to enforce this licence. Our privacy policy at getmachineryready.com/privacy explains how we handle this information.

4. Right of withdrawal

  1. If you buy as a consumer, you normally have a right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days under the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (2005:59).
  2. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium, that right ends once supply has begun, provided that you asked for supply to begin immediately and acknowledged that you would lose the right. At checkout you do both by ticking the box for immediate supply.
  3. Supply begins when you first download the Kit. Until then you may withdraw by writing to hello@getmachineryready.com.
  4. Every download includes a file named LICENSED_TO.txt. It confirms your request for immediate supply and the time supply began.
  5. Business customers have no right of withdrawal.

5. Faulty files and refunds

  1. If a file is faulty or does not match its description, tell us at hello@getmachineryready.com. We will first supply a corrected file.
  2. If we do not supply a corrected file within 14 days of your notice, or the correction does not remove the fault, you may ask for a refund.
  3. This section does not limit the rights you have under mandatory law, including the Swedish Act on Digital Content and Digital Services (2022:260).
  4. A refund ends the licence (section 10.4).

6. What you may do

  1. Let your authorised users use the Kit for products your company manufactures, imports or distributes, at all of your sites.

  2. Copy, adapt, translate and combine the templates to create completed documents.

  3. Store the Kit on systems your company controls, with access limited to authorised users.

  4. Share completed documents with:

    • market surveillance authorities and notified bodies;
    • your customers, dealers, importers, distributors and suppliers, as far as they need them for the product concerned;
    • your auditors, insurers and legal or technical advisers, under confidentiality.

Completed documents belong to you. Their recipients receive no right to the Kit.

  5. Send the supplier cybersecurity requirements (MR-11), blank or with your details filled in, to your own suppliers so that they can answer them for your products and return them to you. Recipients may use the document only to answer you.

  6. Engage an external consultant or consultancy to prepare, review or maintain documents for your products. The consultant may use the Kit only for that work and may not reuse the templates, guides or worked example for other clients or keep them after the work ends. A consultant who wants to use the Kit for its own clients needs a Consultant licence (section 8).

  7. Use AI tools under your company's control to help complete documents, provided the tool does not keep the Kit for training or make it available to others.

7. What you may not do

  1. Give, sell, lend, publish or otherwise make available the Kit or any part of it, including templates, workbooks, guides and the worked example, to anyone who is not an authorised user, except as section 6 allows. This applies in original, modified, translated or blank form.
  2. Share a completed document in a form that can serve others as a template, for example with your own information removed, or offer it to other companies as a model.
  3. Use the Kit for another legal entity, including parent, subsidiary and sister companies, or for clients, without the matching licence (section 8).
  4. Upload the Kit or any part of it to a public repository, a file-sharing service, a drive accessible outside your company, or an AI service that may store it, train on it or make it available to others.
  5. Use the Kit to create a competing template product, training course, software tool or service.
  6. Remove the copyright notice, the author's name or the "not legal advice" notice from the blank templates, workbooks and guides. In the Word templates these notices sit in the blue instruction box; when you complete a document you delete the box with them, and completed documents need not carry them.
  7. Remove, alter or hide the licence marks in the blank templates, workbooks, guides and the worked example, or the file LICENSED_TO.txt. This includes the licensee line, the document properties and the marks described in section 3.1. Deleting the blue instruction box when you complete a document is allowed, and completed documents need not carry the licensee line.

Contractors and external consultants may use the Kit only for your products, may not reuse it for other clients, and must delete their copies when their work ends. Employees who leave may not take copies with them. You are responsible for your authorised users' compliance with this licence.

8. Group and Consultant licences

  • Group licence: covers the company named on the order and the companies it controls (more than 50%), as listed on the order. Price on request.
  • Consultant licence: lets a consultancy use the Kit to deliver work for a stated number of client organisations per 12 months, as shown on the order. Each client receives only completed documents for its own products, and no blank templates, guides or worked example files. The client may use those documents as described in section 6.4. Price on request.

9. Verification

If we have reasonable grounds to believe the Kit is being used beyond this licence, you will, at our written request, confirm within 30 days which legal entities have access to it. Please tell us promptly if you discover that the Kit has been passed on without permission.

The licence marks allow us to identify the order a copy comes from. If copies of your files appear outside your company, we will contact you before taking any other step.

10. End of the licence

  1. If you breach section 7, we may end the licence by written notice if the breach is not fixed within 14 days. If the Kit has been passed on intentionally, we may end it immediately.
  2. When the licence ends under point 1, you must stop using the Kit and delete all copies of it. Completed documents you created before that date remain yours.
  3. For each organisation that receives the Kit without a licence through your breach, you will pay us the list price of the licence that organisation would have needed. This does not limit our right to further compensation under the Swedish Copyright Act (1960:729).
  4. The licence also ends if the price is refunded, or if the payment is reversed through your card issuer or bank after the Kit has been delivered. The licence key is then revoked. You must stop using the Kit and delete all copies of it, together with documents created from its templates. Information about your own products that you entered in those documents remains yours.

11. Transfer

You may not transfer the licence, except to a buyer of the whole business or product line that uses the Kit, with written notice to us. The seller must then stop using the Kit.

12. Update policy

  • Period: free updates until 31 December 2027 or for 12 months after the purchase date, whichever is later.
  • What triggers an update: harmonised standards for Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 cited in the Official Journal, such as EN 50742 on protection against corruption; delegated or implementing acts under the Regulation; new or revised Commission guidance, including guidance on how the Regulation and Regulation (EU) 2024/2847 apply together; errors found in the Kit.
  • Corrections: a confirmed error in a legal statement is corrected within 30 days of being confirmed.
  • How you receive updates: by downloading again at getmachineryready.com/download with your licence key. Release notes list every changed file and its new version number. We announce each new release on getmachineryready.com and by e-mail to the address on the order.
  • After the update period: your licence continues for the versions you received. Further updates may be offered at a renewal price.

The Kit explains the cybersecurity requirements of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 and its relationship with Regulation (EU) 2024/2847, and reflects common practice as checked on the date shown in each file. It is not legal advice. It does not replace the regulation, guidance from the Commission, or advice from qualified counsel. Using the Kit does not guarantee that a machine conforms, or that an authority or notified body will accept your documents. You remain responsible for your products and your compliance decisions.

14. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Kit is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data, fines or penalties imposed on you, or costs of recalls or retrofits. Nothing in this licence limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

15. Third-party material

The Kit refers to EU legislation, Commission publications, and to ISO, IEC, CEN, CENELEC and ETSI standards by number only. It reproduces no standard text. EU legislation is quoted or paraphrased under the EU's reuse policy. The worked example uses a fictional company, fictional people and fictional documents; the .example web addresses do not exist.

16. Law and disputes

This licence is intended for business customers. Swedish law applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the competent courts of Sweden. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also bring a dispute before the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, arn.se).
